Robbie Williams may have been welcomed back into the Take That fold, but that doesn't mean he's left behind all of the eccentric traits that marked his late '00s Los Angeles hiatus.

The Stoke-on-Trent-born crooner, who previously revealed an interest in UFOs and took part in a Radio 4 documentary on the subject, currently hosts a paranormal house guest at his Mulholland Drive pad at least.

Williams and his wife Ayda Field apparently share their LA mansion with a ghost named Bertie -- not that the stars have ever laid eyes on their spooky squatter. "The dogs can see it," explains the inevitable "pal".

With only an innate sense of their otherwordly occupant -- and the presumably inconclusive descriptions provided by their dogs -- to go on, Williams and Field have had to get a little creative in picturing the presence. "They believe it's a man from the beginning of the 20th Century," reports the pal. "Rob likes to imagine him in a suit holding a martini glass."

Williams will bid a temporary farewell to Bertie in May when he embarks on a record-setting UK tour with his reunited Take That bandmates. The trek kicks off on 27 May in Sunderland.

A musical set around the life of Take That's Robbie Williams could be in the pipe line, it has been reported.

The singer has allowed the show to use his solo material after the owner of London's Old Vic theatre began auditioning for two 'Robbies'

''Robbie is bang up for the musical and thinks it will be a fun production. He loves West End shows and is honoured they will be doing one about his life," a source told the newspaper.

Meanwhile, Robbie Williams has confirmed that Take That's tour is still on despite recent speculation.

The jaunt, which will see the group perform at stadiums across the UK, kicks off this spring.

The popstar who has appeared on the show a number of times as a performer, could be the judging panel's new 'top dog' if Cowell decides to take a back seat to focus on the US version of the show.
It is thought that the Take That star's cheeky sense of humour and outspokenness would make him the perfect replacement for the music mogul.
An insider told The Daily Star: 'Robbie is a huge name so would naturally be a massive ratings hit. Not only that, he is also straight-talking and comical.
'We all understand that right now America is where Simon's focus has to be. There aren't many people that can fill his shoes, but Robbie just might be able to do it.'

However, TV bosses are also thought to be considering Gary Barlow for a role on the judging panel, which could bring up some old rivalries between the two singers.
Speaking to The Sun after the National Television Awards last week, Cowell said that none of last year's judging panel have been given new contracts yet.
'I think there are going to be a few surprises. I genuinely do. I don't think there's one set way of doing it. I am currently in conversations with ITV and Fox,' he added.

September 2006 is where it all began for me – and how my life has changed since then! Where did it begin – and who is it about? Is it an obsession; is it all a bit strange? We can’t answer that question but there’s one thing for sure, we’re loving it, www.purerobbie.com – the best site on the internet.

I stumbled across the site in September 2006, doing a google search for Robbie Williams as he was going to tour in Australia, being a fan, and not having ever been to a huge concert before I secured myself a ticket. Didn’t mind going by myself but curiosity got the better of me and found this forum and watched and read for a while. I finally posted, feeling like a right twat being 42 and all and thinking that I was the only over 30 going.

Before you know it I was addicted to the site, I was welcomed by everyone there and made to feel a part of a lovely community which consisted of many different people of different ages from all over the world with a common interest.

So there the first banner began, my overactive mind got to thinking about making a tee-shirt for the concert which somehow turned in to a banner which turned in to a banner that would travel to all of Rob’s Aussie concerts. And to think I was scared to post on the site to start with! Everyone on the site jumped on board and took the ride with me and so the Sisterhood of the Travelling Banner began.

I made the banner and posted a picture on a new thread – somewhere in the midst of making it the idea of the sisterhood of the traveling pants movie came to mind, and the wording for the banner consisted of a favourite monty python quote “he’s not the messiah, he’s just a very naughty boy” – which fitted in well with Rob’s Sin ,Sin, Sin pictures – eventually Rob became “the messiah” and “the sisterhood of the traveling banner” began.

Everyone on the site joined in the fun. The banner was sent from Sydney to Perth on 12th November, 2006 – ready for its first concert experience with members Noodle and Katie. It was decided that whichever concert the banner went to that all the PR members in that state would get together to meet each other, take a photo and post it on the site and the rest of the members could follow its journey.

In this way a lot of the members on the site joined together to share their concert experiences and get a chance to meet each other, those that couldn’t make it could still join in on the excitement.

The banner was then sent back to me in Sydney where all the Sydney PR members arranged a meet at Fox Studios for the first concert. How unusual to meet a bunch of people that I’d only chatted to on the internet – very scary, but heeps of fun. I think everyone was a bit hesitant but we have become great friends and haven’t looked back since.

From Sydney the banner then travelled to Brisbane, and Melbourne, unfortunately time ran out for us to send it to the Adelaide concert.

Aussiemum and I were talking on msn messenger one day/afternoon, depends on what continent you are on, and I mentioned how cool it would be if I could sign her banner. Aussie agreed and considered sending it to me, but I was worried it might get lost in the mail and what a tragedy that would be, so Aussie decided to make another banner that I could sign and from thereit was decided that it should travel the world going to Pure Robbie meets getting signed and photographed in all the unique places it ends up.

The banner left Australia and headed to the United Kingdom to TheMissus. She will be taking it to SoccerAid to be signed by the members at the game. And we all are hoping it is spotted by the sites name sake, if not in person perhaps on his own television.

The banner made it to Soccer Aid and was signed by most of the Pure Robbie members that attendd. TheMissus had front row seats in the stadium and hung the banner over the railing. The banner was seen on tv at least once and the excitement on the site by the members watching on tv and internet feed was great. We all felt like we were at the game, almost

The Netherlands is the next stop for the banner and plans are already in the works for the meet up.

Many members have taken the banner around their town or country or shared pictures of where they live. Not only has it been fun to watch the travels of the banner, it has been fun to learn about places we may never get to see. For more excitement and pictures of the banner, the meets and the places it has been visit Pure Robbie Does The World. Become part of the fun, and arrange a meet up.

On a personal note I have been having a lot of fun with this project. Aussiemum and I plan the stops together and then "worry" that it will make to the next stop and on time. Watching the progression of the banners travels on the map is exciting, and as someone said, "I am jealous of a piece of cloth" There has been a lot of fun during the meets, see the opening picture, and a lot of interesting people have gotten involved.

The best part of this whole adventure is it reafirms all the friends I have made on Pure Robbie. How the site has come together as the meets have been planned. Each new set of pictures reinvigorates the banners "cause"....Pure Robbie brought us together and Robbie Williams brought us Pure Robbie.

Football legends and celebrities to compete in Soccer Aid 2008

Soccer Aid, which is raising funds for UNICEF’s health, education and protection work with vulnerable children all over the world returns to ITV1 on 7 September 2008.
World Cup legends and top celebrities will go head-to-head in an England versus The Rest of The World football match. With Ant and Dec hosting, this year’s event takes place live on the hallowed turf of Wembley Stadium where the crowd will be treated to a unique opportunity to see football legends take to the pitch alongside their celebrity counterparts.
Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp is stepping up to manage England and his squad includes football legends Jamie Redknapp and Alan Shearer, as well as celebrities Kyran Bracken, Ben Shephard, Gareth Gates, Jamie Theakston and Jonathan Wilkes. Meanwhile, legendary Scot Kenny Dalglish will take charge of the Rest of the World. Players hoping to make it into his starting line up include Westlife’s Nicky Byrne, Alastair Campbell, Patrick Kielty, Brian Lara, Jesse Metcalfe and Peter Schmeichel.
A new skipper for team England
Gordon Ramsay returns to captain Rest of the World, but team England have a new skipper. Robbie Williams is passing on his captain’s armband, and the responsibility of deciding who will take his place is in the capable hands of manager Harry Redknapp.
As the originator of the Soccer Aid concept, Robbie is confident that again the match will be of huge benefit to UNICEF’s work around the world.
Robbie Williams says: "Being able to help so many people through Soccer Aid was one of the true highlights of my life. I’m gutted that this time round my knee isn’t up to it so unfortunately I’m out of the game. But I hope that everyone involved has the time of their life like I did, raises loads of money for UNICEF and that the best side wins.”
Tim Lovejoy and Louise Redknapp will bring all the action from the sidelines while pundits and special studio guests will deliver their live analysis of the beautiful game.
Each squad comprises eleven celebrities and five world cup greats. With less than a week for the players to train and bond before the big game, the pressure is on to get match fit and performance ready.

The winners will also receive their Soccer Aid Fives Championship trophy in front of a packed stadium on Soccer Aid match day.
Every Goals Soccer Centre across the country will hold a regional qualifying heat on either Saturday 30 August or Sunday 31 August. The winners of the heats will progress on to national finals at Goals Hayes – a few minutes from Wembley Stadium – where they will compete for the chance to take part in the soccer skills session. Every team that makes the National Final will receive free tickets to the Soccer Aid match on Sunday 7 September at Wembley Stadium.

Has it really been almost two years since Robbie Williams' 2006 world tour?

Don't know about you but I'm missing him like crazy. I'm not talking about is the occasional pap shot or tabloid tale, but seeing him perform or be interviewed on tv.

This dry spell is becoming hard... I never thought his absence would bother me.I was so pleased he was taking time off for himself, my god he deserved it, but enough already..... pop up somewhere Rob :)

As all good Robbie Williams reporters do I got out of bed on this lovely Sunday morning and logged onto the internet in the hope of discovering some google alerts about our main man.... So imagine my joy when I found an inbox full of them.

'Great' I thought.... finally some news on Rob to get my teeth into. One bite later I was already reaching for the sick bucket.

So yeah.... Rob's done an exclusive interview with the lovely Josh Stone, and what do they focus on... his music... no, future of his career.... no....life in LA, footie.... nope...... instead we got more close encounters of the dodgy kind..... that was sooooooo 2006 ;)

Ok, I hit the red cross on all that and open the next alert *wretch* it's a craploid but I give it a go just out of the morbid curiosity that gets the better of me when Rob's name is included and instantly regret doing so... so I hit the red cross and start to wonder what I can add to the blog today....

Right you lot, THIS IS IT! We've come so far and we've reached so high..........Sorry, wrong era!

What can I say? Here we are, waiting for the grand final! I'm so privileged to have been part of this! It's been an amazing journey made so much easier and funnier with you lovely people of PR! All's cool here, I'm not feeling any pressure as reaching the final was my goal. However, how cool would it be to rock that stage Robbie style, win this thing, then go and showcase Robbie to Las Vegas?

I've just finished rehearsing and am really happy with how things are going!

My vocals have come on leaps and bounds and I can guarantee no shouting this week! We've got to stay in one outfit throughout so it's going to be the Close Encounter's thing with the luminous orange trim! It's a costume I'm really comfy in and might strip out to the white vest if need be!I can only emphasise just how grateful I am for your support!

What Bloggers Can Learn from Robbie Williams

I’ve been converted to a Robbie Williams fan recently after watching a DVD of his concert at Knebworth. What We Did Last Summer: Live at Knebworth is one of the best concert DVDs out there. So pick it up or rent it when you can. It’s going to be worth it.

We wrapped up blogging last week in Social Media class, and after watching the DVD close to ten times in a span of two weeks, I was inspired to write about what bloggers can learn from Robbie Williams, as ‘a singer, a songwriter and a born entertainer’. Here it goes.

1. Engage Your Readers - Throughout the concert, Robbie tried to engage the crowd whenever he could. He told stories and he even had a massive karaoke session with the audience when he sang “Strong”. As a blogger, you can engage your readers by posing a question, asking for opinions or by replying to comments to keep the conversation going. ProBlogger advices that “Posting Less Frequently Can Lead to Higher Reader Engagement“.

2. Put 110% - I heard some of the songs in the DVD for the first time but because Robbie put so much effort in the singing and performance of each number, I ended up liking all the new songs. If you put effort into writing every blog entry, then readers will be coming back for more. Neil from Pronet Advertising on how to get more readership/popular through content.

3. Be Real - One of the reasons why Knebworth was a memorable concert is because we saw the real Robbie Williams. He was honest and wasn’t afraid of showing his true self. Being real is what bloggers need to do if they want to build a long term relationship/conversation with their readers. Write to Done says that bloggers should ‘write from the heart’ and ‘reveal’ themselves.

4. Be Passionate - Robbie’s energy on stage comes from his passion for what he does. In this concert especially, it shows through. If you blog about topics that you’re passionate about, then your readers are likely to enjoy and benefit from your writing. Here’s a good article from Blog Herald about passion and blogging.

5. Say Thanks - Robbie Williams wouldn’t be who he is now if his fans did not buy his records. At Knebworth, he showed how much he appreciated how his fans stayed with him throughout his career. Blogging relations is about the act of reciprocity. If you get mentioned in a another blog or receive a comment, leaving a simple ‘Thank You’ note will go a long way. NorthxEast provides 15 ways to thank your loyal readers.

As we all know, there is only one Robbie Williams. There is only one man who has the looks, the charm, the wit and the ability to entertain millions of his fans in such a way that it leaves us hungry for more. There will only ever be one Robbie Williams…….but have you heard about ‘The One and Only’ Tony Lewis?

In the UK, we are now halfway through the latest primetime BBC One Saturday night TV show, ‘The One and Only’. It is searching for the best tribute act in the UK to win the amazing prize of a 3 month contract performing in Las Vegas in the ‘Legends in Concert’ show. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for the tribute acts, and one of the hot favourites in the competition is our very own Pure Robbie member ‘tonyasrobbie’ who is competing as a fantastic Robbie Williams tribute act.

In the middle of his hectic schedule rehearsing for the live shows, Tony has found the time to chat to Pure Robbie staff about the show, his tribute act, life as a Robbie fan and more…Enjoy!

Vicky: Hi Tony…. Life must be a little hectic! Do you wake up in the morning at the moment and pinch yourself wondering if all this is really happening?

Tony: Hi Vicky, thanks for having me! It's all a little crazy at the moment! I've found television a bizarre yet wonderful world! It is all like a bit of a dream, I remember the morning after I'd won the final audition and knew I was going to be on the show, I was like, "Did that really happen yesterday? Am I actually gonna be on Saturday night primetime television?" Lots of questions kept going on in my mind but I've been given an unbelievable opportunity that I'm extremely grateful for!

Vicky: The show is live TV to millions of viewers which must be your biggest audience to date?!

Tony: It's very strange performing in the studio! You've got to perform infront of a physical audience of about 350 people but the greater medium and the people who matter, as they're the ones voting, are the millions of people on the other side of the camera! It's finding that balance between making it a mix of a music video, live performance and interaction all at the same time! Robbie's extremely good at this, if you notice that he plays up to the camera at gigs very naturally, but brings the live crowd into that shot! The man's a natural entertainer and it shows! I've done lots of pretty big gigs for thousands of people but knowing you've got 7 million people watching you is pretty awesome!

Vicky: When you put it like that, it all sounds a bit scary! Being a professional tribute act you must be use to singing to an audience, but how is this different, other than the fact there is a fabulous prize at stake?

Tony: The prize is still a million miles away, I do literally take it a week at a time! Ultimately though it would be an amazing experience to go and work in Vegas! The big misconception that no one knows Robbie over in the US is bollocks! People do know who he is, they just don't go as crazy as we do over here for him! Robbie's very British, he's very tongue in cheek, which most Americans don't get! For fuck's sake, they went mad for Dido! Her music was ok but her personality is nothing compared to Robbie's but they prefer her! It's insane! I keep saying, 'Let's get me to Las Vegas and show Uncle Sam what they've been missing out on!' Anyway, who says that Las Vegas is full of Americans, is London full of English? I think not!

Vicky: What does it feel like just before you walk onto the stage for a live TV show?

Tony: It's a very strange feeling before going onstage for the programme! You've got to make sure you take everything you've learnt and practiced over the week with you and everything gels! I got a bit choked when I walked out onstage for the first show and I could see and hear all my family and friends in the studio audience! Very emotional but an amazing rush of adrenalin!

Vicky: I can understand that, you were singing ’Feel’ and that is an emotional song anyway. Robbie Williams has made it very well known that there are nights when he gets up on stage and doesn’t enjoy performing, yet there are other times that he has the most amazing time and his performances are just unforgettable. Can you relate to this?

Tony: I've been very lucky that I've done some amazing gigs! Sometimes it's surprising that you might do a private party for 50 people and they're having the time of their lives! The intimate venues are often fantastic experiences! I have to say though that 15000 Dutch people bouncing up and down in a tent is an overwhelming buzz! Sometimes you know you've got a gig that you've done before and it's gonna be huge! You over analyse and the show ends up being a little flat! In general though I love going onstage and 99 percent of the shows tick all the boxes! I always want to improve though so you've gotta build for your next show which might be only a few hours away!

Vicky: There are a number of occasions where we see an emotional Robbie telling his audience that they have been the best ever and how much he has enjoyed the concert. What was your most memorable performance prior to the competition?

Tony: Everyone I know in my home town of Leigh was asking when I was playing local and I wasn't so I put on my own show with my band! Tickets sold old straight away so I had to add a date! Performing for all the people I knew gave me that extra energy onstage! I knew it was tough because these people have the ability to be my toughest critics! It was great though, at one point I was onstage singing with my two brothers which was an extremely proud moment! They could experience what I was and it was fulfilling! When Robbie brings his mum onstage it's so he can thank her for her unconditional love and support! It was no different just because I'm on a much smaller stage! We've had girls flashing their tits and knickers thrown onstage, (not always clean by the way!) I've been asked for a couple of kisses whilst performing and was only too happy to oblige! However when I go in for a peck on the cheek they want to go tongues and all! It can be very scary! I love my job!

Vicky: LOL…no immediate plans for a career change then! I understand that you have been a Robbie Williams for years, as long as many of our members here at Pure Robbie. What have been your memorable moments in his career to date?

Tony: It all started when my mate had put Life Thru A Lens on to a tape for me! I remember listening to ‘Angels’ for the first time walking down the street thinking, “This is an amazing album!” Very raw and honest which I admired! I've been lucky enough to watch everyone of his tours! In order, Royal Court, Liverpool, Apollo, Manchester, Wembley, London, Old Trafford Cricket Ground, Manchester, Knebworth, Amsterdam Arena! The best live performance was at Old Trafford but every gig has it's positives! Knebworth was a totally different level! Ultimately I'm a Robbie fan first and a Robbie Tribute second! That's why I want to do him justice so much!

Vicky: Blimey! So really you are the tribute act AND Superfan rolled into one for the purposes of the show! I guess all that time ago you didn’t see yourself as becoming one of the most successful Robbie Williams tribute acts in the UK, or did you? Was it something you always fancied doing or did it really just happen by chance?

Tony: I really did just fall in to it! I never dreamt you could do something you love and get paid for it! I was on a football trip to Blackpool in a bar and drunkenly got up and performed Let Me Entertain You! Unbeknown to me I won an ongoing competition at The Merry England with Joey Blower! An agent spotted me and offered me a gig and it's all snowballed from there! It's taken a lot of hard work but it's all been worth it! Joey was the first person I rang when I knew I was on the show! He was so proud and one of those moments I'll never forget! He's been a great friend and support over the last 6 years!

Vicky: In doing ‘The One and Only’ show you are spending a lot of time with vocal coach Carrie Grant. Prior to the show had you ever had any professional vocal training?

Tony: Before my first gig I went to a vocal coach for an hour but that was it! I saw myself as a performer who could belt out a tune but now it needs to be a whole lot more! Carrie and David are fantastic people and great vocal coaches! They really have made me a better singer! Whatever happens from this, I'll always have their advice which can only make me stronger! Carrie's an unbelievably sexy lady which always helps! Sorry David!

Vicky: LOL….You really are showing that you have the charm of the real Robbie now! As far as Robbie’s mannerisms and moves go, you seem to effortlessly drop these into your performance. How have you gone about perfecting these and do they now come naturally when you are on stage?

Tony: That side has always come naturally to me! Robbie goes onstage and shows off and I do exactly the same! I'm not a big head, I'm a show off, there IS a difference! I suppose it's because I was such a big fan, I just copied what he'd done but I believe I take a bit of Tony out there as well!

Vicky: Now I have to ask you about the look. With very little effort you do seem to be able to pull off a canny resemblance to the worlds most handsome man! It must make the job of being a Robbie Williams tribute act a whole lot easier. Do you have girls running down the street after you…LOL!

Tony:Screaming girls? This job is so tough and shit! Ha, *very big laugh!* The job has it's highs and they totally outweigh any lows! I find it crazy when people say I look like Robbie! Don't get me wrong, I'm flattered, the women out there seem to love him! When I look in the mirror though I still see Tony Lewis!

Vicky: Any real tattoos or plans for any? A set of birdies maybe?

Tony: You Pure Robbie fans seem to love the birdies! IF I win I'll have the mouri left arm done but in my own way as Robbie’s is personal to him so I need to respect that! In fact most of his tats are personal to him, I think a lot of peoples are! I've got the 'All you need is love' on my lower back! I have a Japanese symbol on my left thigh, that was my first and my least favourite! Then there's a cross in the middle of my back which is bridged on my shoulders by 'Theatrum Mundi' which is Latin for theatre of the world! On my right ribs I have an ambigram of LIVE and LIFE! Below that is a family tree kind of thing that I designed myself! Enough for now but they are extremely addictive!

Vicky: I guess because you are a tribute act and not just an impersonator you don’t have to change your look as and when Robbie does, so you haven’t had to grow a beard! What is your favourite Robbie look?

Tony: As I lie here on my bed doing this interview I've got black Calvin Klein’s on! That is all I'm wearing though! I'm a big adidas freak! Always have been! I was over the moon when Robbie started his own Robbie adidas '74 jackets! Jeans, trainers and tracksuit tops all day every day for me! I'm a vest fan for my shows, think it's so casual and the ladies at PR seem to like it! Yet again, it's a luxury doing Robbie because he's one of us and wears the clothes he wants rather than costumes!

Vicky: LOL ….. At this point I would like to point out that I am not in the room with Tony doing this interview! Moving on ….Robbie Williams has been quoted as saying about you "It's great, I'm very flattered. It's bloody hard work being me!". When did you have the opportunity to meet Robbie and what do you think he will make of the show?

Tony: Vernon Kay is a mate of mine and rang me 3 years ago saying that he was interviewing Robbie for his promotion of Radio for T4! I was pretty nervous but what an absolutely fantastic guy! He just wanted to talk about women and football! A normal bloke in an abnormal world! The fact that I got his blessing really justified my occupation! I didn't have to ask for a photo he just offered! I really can't praise him enough, he didn't have to chat to me but he did and gave me the experience of a lifetime! I hope he sees the show for what it is! A bit of fun, but ultimately I'm representing him and even though he doesn't need me to promote Robbie Williams, doing a good job is a must! I'd like to think he gives me the thumbs up! I'm sure he can appreciate singing live in front of millions of people because he does this often! He very rarely mimes unlike other so called 'big' stars!

Vicky: So to the future! The next 3 weeks are going to be massive for you. Are you all fired up and ready for battle?

Tony: I'm a lot more fired up now because I realise that I've not been at the top of my game! There can be no more excuses, I have to sing any song they give me! All Robbie’s songs are great so it's an honour for me to sing them! A lot of people are at the top of their game but with me the best is yet to come!

Vicky: Do you realise now how many people you have got supporting you?

Tony: I was lucky enough to go home on Sunday so I met up with all the people who mean a lot to me! It totally recharged my batteries! It overwhelming to know I've got the support of those people and very humbling! As long as I've got their support then I've nothing to worry about! You guys at PR offering support are also great because you're Robbie fans! You don't necessarily have to but you do which is lovely! Supports been rallied from all over the place! From people who've seen me on the Ocean Village to people from gigs I've done all over! Friends from the past to people on the street! All the support means the world to me, it's like we're all in this together, I'm just lucky enough to be at the forefront of it!

Vicky: Have you ever been to Las Vegas?

Tony: I went to Las Vegas with 10 of my mates in November '05! It was cool because when you're there, ‘Me and my Monkey’ makes a lot more sense! It's an amazing place, so amazing it took 2 weeks to recover when I got home!

Vicky: It sounds like a return visit would not be too much of a struggle for you then! So what next for ‘Tony as Robbie‘?

Tony: Who knows? It totally depends on what happens with the show! I'm definitely going on a holiday as I had the busiest year of my life in 2007 and prior to the show was the Christmas party season! I did 30 gigs in December alone! I'm just hoping that I'm able to keep on going as A Robbie Williams Tribute! Robbie's so big that there'll always be work out there! Out of everybody who auditioned, and there were over 50 Robbie’s, they thought I was the best! Read what you will at that, but for me that's a massive achievement! If I spend the rest of my life 'being' Robbie then that will ding dang do for me!

New, Sun, Bizarre editor Gordon claims David Icke and Robbie Williams are hanging out together, which is mildly diverting (if true) but since it's just a claim by an unnamed source, it's the sort of thing you'd imagine being palmed off to someone further down the bench.

The "source" observes:

It’s an odd acquaintance, to say the least.

Is it? Both are keen on football; both are awash in an LA which doesn't take them seriously; both believe in aliens and stuff like that a little too much; both are people who were in the public eye who are clearly damaged; and, of course, both have performed on the main stage at Glastonbury. And since they met in a restaurant, both are moving in the same circles.

What is notable, though, is that the words "Bizarre editor" have been dropped again from Gordon's byline.

Tim Clarke: On the Robbie Williams strike

Robbie Williams' manager has dismissed reports the British pop star is on strike in protest of his record label, insisting his recent comments addressing the issue were misinterpreted.

It was widely reported last week that the Angels hitmaker had vowed to withhold his new album from EMI in protest over redundancies at the company.

But the star's manager, Tim Clark, denies the claims, insisting his client has simply put plans for recording new material on hold while the firm is reorganising its internal structure.

He says: "On strike? I didn't actually use those terms.

"What we actually said was it would be unrealistic to expect an artist - any artist - to deliver an album while we have no idea where EMI are going."

Don't the tabloids realise what fools they make of themselves?...... if only they researched a little they'd discover Robbie's latest tour blew Take That's away..... not bad for someone who needs a comeback huh?

Dear tabloids..... Rob's been on a year long break, the only thing he's coming back from is his holidays.....

"Starting off with the massive hit that was Patience up against the massive flop that the single Rudebox apperently was.

Patience went #1 in 4 countries and top 5 in four more, Rudebox went #1 in 8 countries (twice more) and top 5 in a further nine.

Lovelight top 5 in 10 charts, Shine top 5 in four.

TT's latest single 'I'd Wait For Life' didn't go top 10 anywhere in the world, whilst She's Madonna was the biggest selling and most played track in all of Europe topping 3 charts, and going top 10 in a further 15 places.

Now lets compare the albums.

Rudebox, the album that got zero promo went to number one in 14 countries, BW, an album with more promo than any other I can ever remember, only did in one country (the UK).

Rudebox was the 18th best selling album worldwide of 2006 (and the biggest selling album by a solo artist outside the USA) whilst BW wasn't even top 50.

BW sold 2.2m copies worldwide, a little over 400,000 outside the UK, Rudebox sold over twice that amount worldwide (4.5m) and a massive ten times more copies outside the UK.

Now the tours........

1) In the UK TT will be playing 28 dates, 517,000 people to an average of 18,000 each night - Robbie played to 625,000 people, only having to put on nine dates, and an average of just under 70,000 people a night.

2) TT's European Tour - They are playing 15 dates, with an expected audience of 159,000 for all the dates combined, and an average of 10,600 people per night.

Robbie however, is in the Guinness Book Of Records for selling out all his tickets in record time. In Europe (not counting the UK), he played to a total of near 2 MILLION people over 30 dates, so an average attendence of 66,600 people.

A massive difference there yet again. And then of course outside Europe, where TT's album and singles did so badly they have'nt even bothered touring anywhere. Whilst Rob played to near 1 million people between Australia, South Africa, Mexico, South America and Dubai, breaking endless records on the way including having the most successful concert tour in the history of Australia (just under 500,000 people) as well as the biggest concert ever in Dubai."

2008 musical comeback for Robbie Williams

Robbie Williams is reportedly planning a huge musical comeback in 2008

The singer– who recently came to the end of his four-year recording deal with EMI - is said to be so jealous of his former Take That bandmates success he is plotting his revenge by planning a comeback of his own.

A source close to the singer said: “Things haven’t been going that well for Robbie recently and he’s been having a bit of a break from recording.

“His last album, ‘Rudebox’, was panned by critics, which was made worse by the fact Take That are doing so well, without him.

“Robbie has now decided enough is enough and it’s time to reclaim his crown. He is working on new material and he reckons this is the best stuff he has ever come up with. There could even be another hit like ‘Angels’.”

Robbie’s comeback plans come as Take That are reaching new heights with their reunion.

Their track ‘Rule The World’, written for the film ‘Stardust’, is hotly tipped to be nominated for Best songat the Oscars, while their album ‘Beautiful World’ is still in eighth position in the UK album charts – despite being released over a year ago.

Frontman Gary Barlow recently rubbished rumours Robbie – who quit the group in 1995 - would be rejoining the band for a one-off performance, saying: “There is no place for Robbie in Take That anymore.”

We assumed 2007 would be a quiet year for Robbie Williams since he finished a massive world tour at the end of 2006 and started 2007 by taking a huge, and brave step into rehab but he has still managed to top the charts, be the hottest male celeb for the journalists to drag out into their headlines whilst fitting in numerous gestures of charity.

A recent survey found Robbie Williams is Britain's favourite good guy!

Charlotte Church's boyfriend Gavin Henson has been named the nation's favourite bad boy. The 25-year-old Welsh international beat rocker Pete Doherty and I'm a Celebrity contestant Mark Bannerman in a poll of 2007's biggest Badfellas.

Henson and three friends have been summoned to court next month after allegedly getting drunk on a train. His club, the Ospreys, say he will deny charges of behaving in a disorderly manner. His singer girlfriend gave birth to their daughter Ruby in September.

Brad Pitt was voted the film star Badfella of the year and Labour trio Tony Blair, Gordon Brown and John Prescott took the top spots in politics.

The survey found Robbie Williams was Britain's favourite good guy.

Mel Gibson made a comeback to be named movie Goodfella of 2007 and David Beckham came top in sport. London Mayor Ken Livingstone won for politics and Sir Trevor McDonald was voted TV Goodfella.

Charitable Robbie Williams' Christmas gift

Robbie Williams spent Christmas day feeding the homeless in Los Angeles. The 33-year-old singer has volunteered to spend Christmas and Boxing Day serving food and singing Christmas carols at the Union Rescue Mission in the 'Skid Row' part of town. Raymond Terry, who first brought Williams to the refuge on San Pedro Street, said, "If it's better to give than to receive, then this is the most satisfying way to spend Christmas. Robbie does an awful lot of charity work. And this is really close to his heart. Everybody I've taken to 'Skid Row' is moved to tears." One of the homeless men said, "Most of the guys over here don't really know who Robbie is. But there's a lot of excitement in the air, because they've been told he is a big pop star in Europe."

Robbie gets an apology from The Mirror!!!!

Several weeks ago the press was full of stories about how Robbie was supposidly conned out of thousands of pounds by two friends in order that they could set up their own business.

The majority of Robbie fans considered this to be a total fabrication, and it seems that we were right!!

The Mirror has now been forced to apologise to Robbie over the allegations (although it is a shame they couldn't put it on the front page).

They made the following statement today.

"In an article entitled 'Fleeced: Robbie hit by £200,000 con' (31/10/2007) we reported that Robbie had given money to friends after they begged for help in setting up a fashion label but they then blew the cash on partying. Whilst Robbie was asked for cash he never gave or contributed any money to friends or associates to assist them in establishing a fashion label. We are happy to set the record straight."

"I'm flying out at the weekend and I'm spending Christmas and New Year in Los Angeles with Robbie.

"The weather is certainly a lot better there than it is here, but then the weather is better almost anywhere other than here. I like the snow, but I prefer the warm sunshine.

"I've been going over there at Christmas for a couple of years now, and I really enjoy it. We actually have a very quiet time - it's not what everyone imagines Christmas in Los Angeles to be like.

"Rob doesn't drink, so it certainly won't be a boozy Christmas.

Robbie Williams has apologised in the High Court and agreed to pay undisclosed damages to former Take That manager Nigel Martin Smith over an allegation in song lyrics suggesting he had stolen funds from the band.

David Sherborne, counsel for Mr Martin Smith, told Mr Justice Tugendhat, sitting in London: "Last year, it was reported in the Press that Robbie Williams had made a number of outrageous allegations about Nigel Martin Smith in the lyrics to one of his songs on his latest album, Rudebox.

"One of these allegations suggested that Nigel Martin Smith had stolen funds whilst managing Take That.

"Robbie Williams wishes to make it clear to his fans, and the public at large, that he did not intend these lyrics to be taken at face value or as a serious statement by him of the views which he holds of Nigel Martin Smith.

"Specifically, Robbie Williams did not intend to allege that Nigel Martin Smith has ever stolen any funds from Take That or anyone."

The judge was told that "Robbie has agreed to pay to Nigel damages and to discharge the costs to which he has been forced in relation to this publication".

The damages figure was not revealed in court.

LA Premier League XII All Stars

Now that the 12th season of the LA Premier League is officially over its time to hand out the awards. LA Vale, being season champions, its no surprise that a handful of awards were given out to the players:

Vale manager/coach/player extraordinaire, Dean Jacobs, received Honourable Mentions for Forward and the more prestigious Manager of the Year.

The No. 8 player from the midwest, Seth Modersohn, received the Midfield award, while striker Chris Roselli picked up the award for playing Forward.

Nick Emmerson picked up the award for Defense.

Last but certainly not least and probably most important to Vales success, the great LA Vale catchers, Rocco Santangelo, Connor Shilcock-Elliot and Adam Throop picked up the much deserved Golden Glove award for their gripping goalkeeper skills.

These awards are the perfect finale to LA Vale's phenomenal unbeaten first season success in the LA Premier League.

Today's Mirror reveals the LA homes of the Spice Girls as they prepare for their upcoming tour. Suprisingly Geri Halliwell, who was rumoured to have had a fling with Robbie Williams at the turn of the millenium, opted for a mansion close to Rob's in LA.

What with Paul Mckenna and Clare Staples moving around the corner from Rob in the near future Rob'll be in Little Britain again......

As you can imagine, yesterdays news of Robbie Williams recording his latest album in a pyramid sent Pure Robbie members wild with excitement. We needed to know more!

So Pure Robbie members and Staff have been hunting high and low across the globe to find more information on this unique venture. Thanks to our member and Robbie Reporter Susanna, Pure Robbie can now exclusively reveal details of Robbie's new project.

It seems the photoshoot has already been completed and the track listing finalised. It looks like it could be out in time for Christmas so we all know what we will now be asking Santa for!

Pop pharaoh ROBBIE WILLIAMS is planning to record part of his next album inside an ancient Egyptian PYRAMID. Experts told the singer the acoustics in the 4,500-year-old monuments are amazing. And Robbie, 33 - whose hits include Angels, Millennium and Come Undone - is ready to jet off to Cairo in a fortnight for a test run at the Great Pyramid of Giza. If it works out, the album could put Tutankhamun's world-famous golden treasures in the shade. A source told ViP: "Robbie has heard the chamber of the Great Pyramid has the best acoustics in the world. "He's going to go and sing a few notes in there to see if the sound is as impressive as expected. He wants to use it as a temporary studio. And he reckons it really will make him Tut of the Pops." The source added: "The plan will go into full swing if he likes what he hears. "But he already reckons the exotic location combined with the history is the way forward. "And the video for the first single may even be made there too." The Robster is currently working on the new album in Los Angeles with ace producer MARK RONSON. His old songwriting partner GUY CHAMBERS - who he ditched in 2002 in a row about money - is also helping out after the pair buried the hatchet earlier this year. But the source told us: "Robbie wants to take it that step further by adding a personal touch to the recording - something that no one else has done before."
