LA Premier League XII All Stars

Now that the 12th season of the LA Premier League is officially over its time to hand out the awards. LA Vale, being season champions, its no surprise that a handful of awards were given out to the players:

Vale manager/coach/player extraordinaire, Dean Jacobs, received Honourable Mentions for Forward and the more prestigious Manager of the Year.

The No. 8 player from the midwest, Seth Modersohn, received the Midfield award, while striker Chris Roselli picked up the award for playing Forward.

Nick Emmerson picked up the award for Defense.

Last but certainly not least and probably most important to Vales success, the great LA Vale catchers, Rocco Santangelo, Connor Shilcock-Elliot and Adam Throop picked up the much deserved Golden Glove award for their gripping goalkeeper skills.

These awards are the perfect finale to LA Vale's phenomenal unbeaten first season success in the LA Premier League.

It's Official - Robbie William's LA Vale have won the LAPL!!!

A CHAMPION IS CROWNED FOR LAPL XII - LA VALE 2007

LA Vale waltzed into their last season game needing only to preserve their 20 point season goal differential advantage to snatch the crown.

Although Avanti won the match 2-1, Vale can walk away as the undisputed champs of LAPL XII based on their season long dominance. They join an elite group of teams that can say they have hoisted the famed LAPL crown.

WE WON THE LEAGUE!!!

Hi Guys

Avanti lost last night to the Cock and Bull, which means that we have won the LA Premier League :)

The only way that we can lose is if Avanti beats us 20-0 :)

Apparently last nights game was a feisty one with a huge brawl breaking out which meant that the referee stopped the game mid way throught the second half with the score 2-0 to C'n'B!!!

Champions LA Vale!!!

I just wanted to say thanks for your support, and that i'm so proud to play for this team that is chock full of good people and a phenomenal chairman!!!

more news...apparently, Haramble have been booted out of the Super Metro for fighting as well. So it looks like we are on course to win that league as well :)

Another victory for Robbie Williams' LA Vale

The Robbie Williams celebrity soccer team, LA Vale beat the O'Briens 4 goals to 3 last night in L.A.

Another LA Vale Victory for Robbie Williams & co

Last night in L.A the Robbie Williams soccer team LA Vale, beat Matador 3:1

After the first half LA Vale were only 1.0 ahead & in the second half the Matadors fought like bulls but another two close range goals from LA Vale ended their chances of catching up leaving L.A Vale to scoop yet another victory.

LA Vale are now looking good to win the league, placed at the top of the La premier league with a 3 point goal difference over second placed Avanti.

Media interest is growing rapidly and German tv station Pro7 were even there to interview Robbie Williams and the L.A Vale squad, so watch out for that :)

David Beckham & Robbie Williams plan celebrity soccer match

Robbie Williams v David Beckham, You couldn't invent such a pairing if you tried...

Rob and David have worked together many times over the years as Unicef embassadors, soccer aid, Live 8 and have developed a great friendship leading to Rob singing with James Brown at the Beckhams World Cup bash last year (footage of this has never been released... release it for the love of god!) and David introducing Rob at the massive Live 8 event in 2005.

Their friendship goes back years, right to the 90's where the Spice Girls and Take That dominated the charts and the tabloids....and David was hardly out of his soccer training pants...

The pair share a passion for soccer and now it seems they'll meet on the pitch, on opposing sides as LA Galaxy take on Rob's celebrity soccer team LA Vale in an upcoming charity match.

"Soccer ace David Beckham has challenged pop superstar Robbie Williams to a charity showdown. The former England captain, who has just moved from Real Madrid to L.A Galaxy, has asked his new bosses if they would let the team play LA Vale - a celebrity squad headed up by Williams. Beckham hopes the match will be broadcast worldwide and raise millions for charity. He says, "I'm not sure if we are allowed but we will see."

Although the source is unreliable we've all got our fingers crossed this is being planned.... shorts...legs...shorts...sweat....shorts.....legs........... oh and soccer of course :D

Robbie gets his kicks in LA
Robbie Williams' football team LA Vale FC have started out in an over 30s league in Los Angeles. We went along to see if the footballing gods are smiling on them in the City of Angels.
The football team that Robbie built - LA Vale FC - are starting to cause a stir in Los Angeles.
Originally formed in 2005 from a bunch of local lads and ex-pats who used to have a kickabout at Robbie's home, LA Vale have finally got their season underway in a little-known league.

The LA Premier League is based in the Santa Monica area on the west side of Los Angeles. It's predominately an over 30s league (although teams can field the odd younger player) and non-profit making so any money generated goes back into the running of the league.
Games are played on an artificial pitch at The Crossroads School. The pitch is a little smaller than normal - but for the older players, it suits them just fine!
Promoting fair play
The league promotes fair play. There's no slide tackles allowed and it's more about having fun. It's for players of varied ability who love to play football.
Robbie (wearing the number 3 shirt) looks very comfortable at left back while best mate Jonathan Wilkes (number 8) plays in the centre of midfield and certainly looks a very accomplished footballer.
While the games are competitive, to be honest it's a fairly low-key league. But with Robbie around, the local paparazzi have been poking their long lenses through the fences and crowd attendances are beginning to swell.
Three teams formed the league in 2002, but with the addition of Robbie's LA Vale, there's now 11 competing for the title in 2007.
The league has teams from players all around the world. The Cock 'N Bull - an ex-pat bar in Santa Monica - is made up of mainly Brits. But there are also teams with players from Romania, Israel and South America.
Friendly local rivalry
One of the teams is actually managed by a guy from Stoke-on-Trent. Richard 'Trix' Taylor is in charge of O'Brien's. Originally from Knypersley, he moved to LA in 1994.
Richard thinks that the introduction of LA Vale can only benefit the LA Premier League: "To be honest, Robbie's been great for the league. Of course he's raised the profile - which can cause a few problems - but he's also helping to improve the standard.
"His team have already raised the bar and we're all going to have to recruit better players to compete. In the end, it'll probably help the league to continue to grow."
Trix (as he's known to his friends) is on the board and one of the few guys who run the league. He's also a Stoke City fan but he doesn't let Robbie's Vale sympathies get in the way of their relationship.
"I guess that because I come from Stoke, it's good for him to have a local friendly face to deal with when there's any problems.
"Of course, it's feels a bit weird if you think about the fact that it's Robbie Williams on the other end of the phone. But at the end of the day, he's just another manager in the same league. And that's the way he likes to be seen."
