Robbie Swings In High Definition

The official Robbie Williams site has announced that Live At The Albert, Robbie's fantastic Swing show at the Albert Hall in 2001, is being re-released in High Definition.

The Blu-ray/HD DVD will contain over 100 minutes of footage, including the Albert Hall show in its entirety. It will also come with a 12-page booklet giving details of the DVD content.

The original DVD sold in excess of 1 million copies, making it one of the biggest selling DVD's ever.

Live At The Albert is available from Monday 3 December 2007 in HD DVD and Blu-ray.

"THE current first lady of UK jazz says the recent upswing in the popularity of the genre owes a debt to Robbie Williams. It’s a surprising admission from Clare Teal, because one could be forgiven for thinking Williams’ 2001 album Swing When Your Winning represents the kind of pop crossover that would annoy real jazz artists. And while Teal, who is performing at the Lloyds TSB Welsh Proms in St David’s Hall this month, reserved less respect for Westlife’s stab at the same style, she has genuine praise for the former Take That man."

"Robbie Williams was actually the first to do that sort of record, two years before Jamie Cullum got signed to Sony, and he opened a lot of doors to the mainstream for jazz artists."

Robbie Williams collaborates with Dean Martin

Fans of Robbie Williams were eagerly awaiting the second Swing albums release, rumoured to be in Septermber 2007 but now have a delightful taster as he's collaborated with his idol Dean Martin on Martin's new album entitled Forever Cool. Robbie Joins Martin to sing Please don't talk about me when i'm gone.

Other collaborators include Joss Stone and Kevin Spacey. Pure Robbie reporters now assume this is where the rumours about a Spacey/Williams collaboration came from....We knew he'd be too busy for that ;)
